Jordon Johnson-Rubell

About Me

My name is Jordon Johnson-Rubell, and I’m a defensive back for the Texas Longhorns. I’m from Fort Worth, Texas, and I’ve loved football for as long as I can remember. It’s more than just a game for me—it’s a way of life, a path that’s taught me discipline, teamwork, and resilience.

Early Life and Hometown

I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. Growing up, I spent countless hours honing my skills on local fields and playing in youth leagues. My hometown and the people there shaped who I am, instilling in me the work ethic and determination that fuel me every day. I attended Morningside Elementary School on the South Side of Fort Worth. I was playing youth football for Deion Sander's team Truth Sports and was given the opportunity to attend Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas. Being around the older guys made me realize how football could change my life. After a few years I transferred and start attending Brewer High School for my Freshman, and part of my Sophmore year. I wanted more out of football and I moved to Florida at the age of 15 to attend IMG Academy. That sacrifice was life changing and it prepared me for the next phase in life, University of Texas.

College Career

I came back home and I am proud to be part of the Texas Longhorns football program. As a defensive back, I take pride in locking down receivers, making big plays, and supporting my teammates. The competition at this level pushes me to keep improving and to represent the University of Texas with pride and integrity.

Playing Style

On the field, I’m known for my versatility, physicality, and football IQ. Whether it’s tight man coverage, reading an offense, or coming up to stop the run, I strive to be reliable and relentless every snap. My goal is to make an impact every time I step on the field.

Giving Back: BTO (Beating The Odds)

Beyond football, I’m passionate about making a difference in my community. I founded BTO (Beating The Odds) to empower young people facing challenges. Our mission is to provide mentorship, resources, and opportunities so they can rise above adversity and achieve their goals. I want to give back some of the things I didn't have. Every sale from my online store helps support this mission.

My Store

At JJRubell Official, you’ll find:

  • Fan gear and memorabilia

  • Official branded apparel

  • Select gently used and new items through my online thrift store Twelve Hundred Ave. Thrift Store

A percentage of the proceeds help fund BTO (Beating The Odds), allowing me to give back to the community that’s given so much to me.

Personal Life

Off the field, I love spending time with family and friends. I stay grounded by remembering where I came from and the values that have carried me this far. My journey is about more than football—it’s about using my platform to inspire, lead, and help others beat the odds.
